We are seeking a seasoned Director of Financial Operations to join our team at the Ministry Of Health New Zealand. As a key member of our leadership team, you will provide financial leadership and strategic advice to senior leaders, helping to shape the financial direction of the Ministry and support Crown Entities in achieving their performance goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance on financial planning and budgeting to ensure alignment with the Ministry's overall strategy.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial monitoring frameworks to provide insights into financial operations and support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to provide timely, accurate advice on financial performance, budgets, and performance measures.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in a finance or relevant field, Chartered Accountant or similar qualification required.
  • Proven track record of providing high-quality financial advice, information, and analysis to support business performance.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with an ability to communicate complex financial information in simple terms.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
