About the Role

The Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance is seeking a skilled Senior Asset Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the ASM team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring best practice and innovation in asset management for Transportation Technology, Tunnel assets, and roading infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing Forward Works Programmes and budgets, including Asset Management Plans (3-year, 10-year, and 30-year plans) and SHIP, NLTP inputs.
  • Managing Asset Management Plans, Life Cycle Plans, renewals schedules, and integrated Maintenance Plans.
  • Developing Asset Improvement Plans and innovative initiatives, using best practices and research.
  • Maintaining as-built drawings, asset manuals, and records; ensuring current asset inventory in CMMS (AWM or MEX) by NZTA standards.
  • Ensuring quality asset data and systems data, monitoring performance and service levels, and analysing trends.
  • Developing and reviewing Scopes of Works, Designs, Specifications for renewals and maintenance; handling specialist services and compliance with NZTA Standards.
  • Coordinating with the Tunnels team, other Asset Managers, and the Delivery Team; reviewing plans and conducting quality assurance audits.
  • Consulting with NZTA teams and representing the Asset Manager in forums and National ITS Working Group meetings.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in electrical engineering, information technology, asset management, or a related discipline. Your skills and qualifications should include:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Asset Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • General knowledge of Transport Technology, electronic assets, and Asset Management principles.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Proficient in office software and systems (AWM, CMMS, etc.).
  • Experience with Safety and Quality Management systems and Quality Assurance.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of stakeholders.
