Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across our student communities. This will involve:* Working collaboratively with rainbow, takatapui, and disabled communities to co-design engagement opportunities;
* Providing advice and administrative support for DEI advisory groups and student representation networks;
* Assisting in the planning and delivery of inclusive orientation experiences;
* Supporting awareness, training, and communication efforts that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion;
* Building relationships with diverse communities and services to ensure intersectional approaches to inclusion.
About the Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who has a passion for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse student communities, particularly rainbow, takatapui, and disabled groups. They will also have a strong understanding of DEI principles and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, with the ability to apply them in student inclusion. Excellent facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential, as well as experience in coordinating projects and student-led initiatives. An undergraduate qualification (preferred in a relevant field such as social sciences, community development, or education) is also required."
