Job Overview

The Advanced Practitioner in Hand Therapist Role is responsible for providing expert hand therapy services to patients across various clinical specialties. This includes conducting advanced professional assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based practice guidelines. The successful candidate will also provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff members, contributing to the development of the hand therapy service within the organization.

Responsibilities include:
• Providing advanced professional assessments and treatment plans for patients with hand-related injuries or conditions
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and achieve optimal outcomes
• Developing and implementing evidence-based practice guidelines for hand therapy within the organization
• Mentoring and supervising junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge in hand therapy

Key Skills and Qualifications:
• Registered Hand Therapist with Hand Therapy New Zealand
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience working in hand therapy
• Strong understanding of adult education principles and the ability to apply them in a clinical setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and research in hand therapy
