About the Role Here at Christchurch Hospital, we are looking for an Advanced Professional Physiotherapist registered as a Hand Therapist, with knowledge and experience in Hand Therapy, to join us in the Hand Therapy Service as part of our Physiotherapy Women's, Hand Therapy and Musculoskeletal Outpatients cluster.
In this role, you will provide safe and clinically effective patient assessment and intervention with demonstration of advanced knowledge and skills to support the hand therapy management of patients.
You will be helping to develop the Hand Therapy Service, whilst working alongside interdisciplinary staff and students.
As part of our Women's, Hand Therapy and Musculoskeletal Outpatients cluster, you will also work with patients across a range of clinical specialties to support our inpatient services/colleagues as required.
This role will assist in developing the clinical capability of others and will provide clinical and/or professional supervision to staff and students.
You will be involved in quality improvement activities and creating and/or actively implementing evidence-based practice.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Undertaking advanced professional assessments, completing appropriate interventions, and providing advice or referring to other servicesTraining, supervising, and mentoring interdisciplinary staff and studentsFacilitating and leading service improvementsAbout You We are seeking an Advanced Practitioner to join the team in this designated Hand Therapist position, your skills will include:
A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience working in hand therapyRegistered Hand Therapist with Hand Therapy New ZealandDemonstrated leadership skills and contribution to interdisciplinary service developmentExperience in teaching/supervising, training and development of staff with an understanding of adult education principlesCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthKnowledge of quality improvement principles and processes, with a growth mindsetExcellent communication skills both verbally and writtenExperience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings is advantageousWorking for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the weaving of wellnesses.
