Job Summary

We are seeking an Advanced Practitioner to join our team as a Hand Therapist. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience working in hand therapy and be registered with Hand Therapy New Zealand.

As a designated Hand Therapist, you will provide advanced professional assessments, complete interventions, and provide advice or refer to other services as needed. You will also train, supervise, and mentor interdisciplinary staff and students, facilitating and leading service improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Undertake advanced professional assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with hand-related injuries or conditions
• Provide expert advice and guidance to healthcare professionals on hand therapy management and techniques
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and achieve optimal outcomes
• Develop and implement evidence-based practice guidelines for hand therapy within the organization
• Mentor and supervise junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge in hand therapy

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. A strong understanding of adult education principles and the ability to apply them in a clinical setting is essential. Additionally, you should have a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and research in hand therapy.
