About the Role

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Fibre Technicians to join our high-performing Christchurch Team. As a Fibre Technician, you will require a broad range of skills and abilities to ensure fibre installation work is carried out to industry and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Fibre installations including cabling and fusion splicing in domestic and commercial properties and build sites.
  2. Activate, test, and troubleshoot services, diagnosing and resolving network faults to ensure optimal network functionality.
  3. Competently undertake civil installation methodologies including fenceline, slot-cut, hard trench, soft trench, and making boundary cuts.
  4. Correctly use machinery and equipment including concrete cutter, terrasaw, machine trencher.
  5. Work underfloor, in ceilings, at height, and undertake manual physical work tasks.
  6. Scope, install, survey, and accurately read and interpret plans.
  7. Provide excellent customer service and expertise to ensure a positive experience for clients.
  8. Carry out and perform all duties in accordance with industry and company standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years Fibre Technician experience.
  • New Zealand Class 1 Full Drivers Licence.
  • Physically fit and capable of undertaking the following duties – underfloor and ceiling installation work; manually digging, potholing, carrying reasonable loads, and other physical tasks.
  • Proven experience using applicable machinery and equipment and installing up to 24F.
  • Wheels, Tracks, and Rollers and Class 2 are preferred but not essential.
  • Strong logic, planning, and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong work ethic, maintaining personal accountability for output.
  • Respect for others and highly reliable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
