Data Centre Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Operations Specialist to join our team in Christchurch. The ideal candidate will have experience in first-level support and hands and eyes services, as well as a strong understanding of data centre infrastructure.

As a Data Centre Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a range of tasks including installation of customer equipment, cables, and cabling infrastructure. You will work closely with the 24x7 Operations Manager to complete scheduled and ad-hoc tasks, and provide exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing the Data Centre training programme
  • Supporting the Data Centre Team with Batch Services: Operating batch processes, monitoring alerts, and escalating issues.
  • Providing first-level support and hands and eyes services to our Data Centre customers
  • Ensuring health and safety requirements are adhered to.
  • Providing consistent and excellent management of data centre assets.
  • Delivery of customer-facing activities and fostering customer relationships
  • Installation and/or management of Data Centre infrastructure including power systems, IT and telecommunications equipment, cabling, and server racks.
  • Ensuring adherence to (and documentation of) existing and new standards relating to customer change
  • Completion of all operational tasks assigned to you in a timely manner and communication of status.
