We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Education Perfect, working on our EdPotential platform, which provides data-driven insights to help New Zealand schools improve learning outcomes.

As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the EdPotential software platform, ensuring high standards of software quality, security, maintainability, and extensibility.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience with Java development, particularly with the Spring framework, as well as strong proficiency in SQL. Experience working with GWT and AWS is a bonus, but not essential.

You will work closely with domain experts to deepen your understanding of student educational data, troubleshoot and resolve code-level issues efficiently, contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tools, conduct software testing, create high-quality technical documentation, and support iterative product development and innovation.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact in the education sector, working with a small but dedicated team based in Wellington, on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Flexible working hours and hybrid working arrangements are available.
