About the Role

We are looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Specialist to partner with our Engineering team at our East Tamaki manufacturing site. As HSE Specialist, you will drive safety culture, improve environmental performance, maintain legal compliance, and reduce safety incidents through leadership, planning, and advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive HSE improvement initiatives to embed a 'Safety First' culture in the Engineering team.
  • Reduce injuries, oversee injury management and early intervention processes, identify and manage hazards, and role model WALK and TALK requirements.
  • Ensure risk assessments are completed and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are developed, including training employees on SOPs.
  • Complete internal audit requirements and manage corrective actions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have relevant HSE experience in an operational, manufacturing, or engineering environment, with experience in training and coaching teams and driving a Safety First culture. You will also have technical writing ability to document work instructions and SOPs, as well as experience with Permit to Work, high-risk JSA's, I-cam investigations, and contractor management.
