About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Psychiatric Support Worker to join our team at Canterbury District Health Board. In this role, you will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team to provide support to consumers with mental health needs.
The North Adult Community Psychiatric Service at Hillmorton Hospital provides specialist assessment and treatment to people (aged 18-65) whose everyday life is significantly affected by a mental disorder. Our team is committed to providing high-quality care to our consumers.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A current clean driver's license - preferably able to drive both manual and automatic
- Certificate in Mental Health studies or other training in Mental Health
- Experience in Community Mental Health delivery
- Skills and Experience Commitment to Treaty of Waitangi and bi-cultural practice
- Ability to work within the context of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to engage in a therapeutic relationship with, and advocate for consumers
