Job Description
This is a fixed term opportunity until July 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert HR advice and support to a diverse range of leaders across the Department.

Responsibilities
- Providing critical Human Resources advice and support to managers, team leaders, and supervisors
- Assisting in resolving employment disputes and offering support for performance assessments
- Contributing to the development and application of HR policies and procedures, while participating in change management and improvement initiatives
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborating with Senior HR Advisors to update and develop role descriptions as needed

Skills and Qualifications
- Solid understanding of human resources, employment legislation, and best practices
- Ability to analyse situations and provide practical solutions to HR challenges
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people
- Tertiary qualification in HR, a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within teams and with external stakeholders
- Understanding of the Maori-Crown relationship and ability to integrate te reo and tikanga Maori in daily work
