We are seeking an experienced Hardware Systems Designer to join our team at Trimble's NZ headquarters in Christchurch. As a Mechanical Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing hardware products that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop hardware products from concept through to production
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and reliability
  • Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to source high-quality components
  • Perform design for manufacturability (DFM) and cost analysis to optimize product design
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and specifications
  • Conduct testing and validation to ensure product meets requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hardware product development
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality products on time and within budget
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (PTC Creo Parametric advantageous)
