About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team in Christchurch, New Zealand. As a key member of our Hardware Solutions Team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative mechanical systems for our construction machine guidance system components.

As a Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will work closely with our multi-disciplined team to craft and evaluate the mechanical aspects of systems and devices through the complete design cycle, from requirements definition to introducing and sustaining the product in manufacture.

You will be responsible for:

  • conceptualising and best practice detailing new mechanical designs;
  • supporting existing products;
  • creating documentation;
  • performing hand calculations and FEA;
  • working with suppliers and contract manufacturers;
  • identifying product risk and taking responsibility for risk mitigation within your functional area.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
  • demonstrated industry experience as a mechanical engineer;
  • experience with developing products from concept through to production;
  • familiarity with high-volume components designed for use in demanding environments;
  • proficiency with 3D CAD (PTC Creo Parametric advantageous).
