We are seeking an experienced Clinical Thrombosis Specialist to join our team at Waikatodhbnewsroom. The successful candidate will have a strong background in vascular care and will be responsible for coordinating and managing the care of patients with thromboembolic disease.

This permanent 0.8 FTE role is primarily responsible for facilitating the established clinical pathway used by medical teams in the acute setting to streamline the investigation and management of patients admitted with a diagnosed DVT/PE. However, gradually learning about Haemophilia and supporting the Haemophilia centre would be an expectation.

As a Clinical Thrombosis Specialist, you will demonstrate expert knowledge, advanced clinical skills, and work autonomously. You will be an excellent communicator, adaptable, and work well within a team. You will be accountable for care delivery and coordination of complex Thrombosis patients and will work in collaboration with the Medical and Senior nursing teams.

Requirements:

  • RGN; RGON; RPN; RCpN with or without BN or BHSC (Nursing)
  • Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ)
  • Evidence of competence to practice within the Registered Nurse scope of practice
  • Specialty knowledge and practice expertise
  • Postgraduate certificate / diploma in specialty nursing practice
  • Working towards completion of master's degree in nursing or health-related area
  • Knowledge of quality improvement processes and principles
  • A personal commitment to ongoing learning and development
