About the Role

The Office of the Ombudsman is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join their People and Capability team. As a key member of the team, you will provide expert advice and support on HR issues to managers and staff across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance on recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR policies and procedures
  • Lead or contribute to HR projects, annual processes, and initiatives
  • Support the development of people-related strategies and plans that align with the organization's strategic aims and objectives
Requirements
  • Degree or tertiary qualification in business or HR management, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation
  • Experience working with HR practices and processes, preferably in the NZ public sector
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
