Job Overview

We are seeking a Lead Advisor in the Portfolio and Programme team within Services and Contracts Management. The successful candidate will support the team to deliver on its goals, focusing on one of five core portfolios.

About the Team / Mō te tīma

The Māori, Communities and Partnerships Group is responsible for building capability across MSD to support the aspirations of Māori and connect with communities. The Service and Contracts Management team manages social service procurement and contracts with service providers and partners nationwide.

About the Role / Mō te tūnga

As a Lead Advisor, you will maintain a strong understanding of the pipeline of work, ensuring customer requirements are well-defined and planned. You'll build relationships with internal stakeholders and act as a key link between customers and SCM teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with customers and across all SCM teams.
  • Bring a sound working knowledge of procurement and contracting in a social service environment.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure portfolio work is included in prioritisation planning.
  • Take ownership of detailed planning and communication.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant qualification or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in social service contract management or procurement operations.
  • Proven project delivery skills, managing risks and achieving outcomes.
  • Strong legislative and policy knowledge, with operational application.
  • Experience working with machinery of government processes and systems.
  • Solid understanding of operational policy and its impact.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work at pace, balancing planned and unplanned work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant communication tools.
  • An understanding of the social sector and commissioning.

Salary Range

$120,870.00 - $150,416.00
