About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and supervise a team of MRF operators, sorters, and equipment operators.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and managing the daily operations of the MRF during their allocated shift, ensuring that all production processes are being followed correctly and that labour numbers are being met each shift.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work tasks of MRF staff to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor and manage the daily operations of the MRF during the shift.
  • Coordinate with managers and HR to initiate recruitment process.
  • Supervise shift staff and respond to people management queries.
  • Identify training needs and coach staff to upskill.
  • Motivate team members and foster a positive work environment.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to motivate and develop team members. You should also have a proven track record of problem-solving and decision-making, as well as knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations.

  • Key Requirements:
  • Able to perform physical requirements such as prolonged physical exertions including standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying.
  • Available to work over a rotating 24-hour roster, Monday to Friday.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot MRF equipment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications for reporting and documentation.
