Company Overview

The Public Service Association, a leading trade union in New Zealand, seeks a Chief Financial Officer to oversee the financial management of the organisation and its subsidiaries.

This strategic role involves advising on and managing all financial aspects, delivering accurate day-to-day accounting, financial analysis, and advice. The CFO will be responsible for regular reporting to the board, annual budget preparation, statutory reporting obligations, and overseeing investments.

The role provides leadership to the PSA Finance Team, supporting team members in their roles, and ensuring effective and efficient performance.

Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer will advise and manage all financial aspects of the organisation, working closely with a small team to deliver high-quality results. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Leading the finance team to achieve business objectives
  • Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures
  • Providing financial advice to the board and senior management

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A qualified chartered accountant with strong experience in financial management
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
