Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team. The successful candidate will provide expert advice on a wide range of issues, including retail banking products, compliance, and regulatory matters. This role reports to the GM Legal – Customer and requires close collaboration with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide trusted advice on retail banking products, including home loans, credit cards, everyday banking, and payments
  2. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of customer outcomes
  3. Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and regulatory requirements
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience as a legal counsel
  • Tertiary qualification in Law and current practicing certificate (or ability to hold)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
