Job Overview

This role involves delivering a professional, empathetic, and effective service to people and families needing long-term sustainable accommodation.

The successful candidate will practice social work frameworks, professional practice, and reporting, and show acceptance, inclusion, and genuine interest in people and validate their story and aspirations.

  • Key responsibilities include managing cases, referring clients to internal and external services, and recording client interactions and case notes.
  • You will also be responsible for connecting people to Salvation Army services that enhance their current circumstances and meet individual needs.

The role is an exciting opportunity to join a hard-working team with a commitment to supporting whānau and working with a long-standing social service provider partnering with the community to tackle homelessness.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Proven relevant Social Work experience of at least 2 years
  • Holds a recognised Social Work Degree Qualification or equivalent
  • Fully registered with the Social Work Registration Board
  • Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Previous or current experience in transitional housing would be advantageous
