Our Genetic Health Service NZ (GHSNZ) team provides a national, multidisciplinary service delivering clinical genetics care across Aotearoa. Based at Te Toka Tumai Auckland City Hospital, we work closely with regional teams and outreach clinics to ensure equitable access to genetic services for all communities.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Council of New Zealand in Clinical Genetics
  • Experience in genomic medicine and multidisciplinary genomic meetings (MDM/MDT)
  • A strong commitment to equity, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and culturally responsive care
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient-centered counseling skills
  • A passion for education, mentoring, and research in genetic medicine

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing specialist genetic services, supporting patients through assessment, diagnosis, and genetic counseling
  • Collaborating with genetic counselors, referrers, and laboratory experts to ensure high-quality patient-centered care
  • Contributing to genomic medicine advancements and supporting the next generation of clinicians through teaching and mentoring
