About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Geneticist to join our team at Te Toka Tumai Auckland City Hospital. As a Clinical Geneticist, you will be responsible for providing specialist genetic services to patients and whanau across Aotearoa.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage genetic conditions for patients and whanau across Aotearoa.
- Provide specialist genetic services, including assessment, diagnosis, and genetic counselling.
- Collaborate with genetic counsellors, referrers, and laboratory experts to ensure high-quality, patient-centred care.
Requirements
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Council of New Zealand in Clinical Genetics.
- Experience in genomic medicine and multidisciplinary genomic meetings (MDM/MDT).
- A strong commitment to equity, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and culturally responsive care.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient-centred counselling skills.
- A passion for education, mentoring, and research in genetic medicine.
