Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Commercial Business Manager to join our team at either our North Ryde or Walkley Heights offices in Australia. The successful candidate will support the Program Director with day-to-day business operations and contribute to the growth and development of our contracts.

This role offers a dynamic environment where you'll work closely with project delivery teams and SMEs. You'll identify commercial risks, draft qualifications, and close negotiations with clients to govern contract execution.

You'll also review subcontractor quotes, prepare subcontracts, and align head contract conditions. Additionally, you'll provide guidance on submission of payment claims, variations, EOTs, and contract correspondence.

We're seeking a skilled professional who can assist in dispute matters and work with the Commercial Director and legal advisors to resolve issues.

  • Support the Program Director with day-to-day business operations.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of our contracts.
  • Work closely with project delivery teams and SMEs to identify commercial risks and draft qualifications.
  • Closely negotiate with clients to govern contract execution.
  • Review subcontractor quotes and prepare subcontracts.
  • Align head contract conditions.
  • Provide guidance on submission of payment claims, variations, EOTs, and contract correspondence.
  • Assist in dispute matters.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Familiarity with contract management principles.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably with a background in construction management.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
