We are a leading research agency in Singapore, dedicated to driving innovation and growth through science and technology.
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Engineer/Lead Research Engineer to join our Digital Manufacturing Division.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in controls, integration, and PLC programming.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct R&D in novel adaptive and autonomous control algorithms for scalable self-learning, self-optimizing and self-recovery production systems.
- Work with a team of engineers and scientists to design and implement integrated IIOT and AI-enabled production systems for smart manufacturing.
- Understand the autonomous manufacturing domain and provide innovative solutions to industry problems in this area.
- Familiarity with industry communication protocols such as OPC-UA, MQTT, Profibus, and RS-232 is an advantage.
Requirements:
- Masters or Bachelor degree in Computer Science / Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, with emphasis on controls, integration, and automation.
- 1-3 years experience in industry and/or R&D projects in the area of controls and IIOT (min. 5 years for Lead Research Engineer).
- Develop and program PLCs and other control systems, utilizing platforms like TwinCAT, EcoStruxure, Codesys, and others.
- Ability to apprehend and/or interpret electrical circuit diagrams is a strong advantage.
- Excellent technical presentation and writing skills.
- Can-do attitude and able to work with different needs of various stakeholders.
- Proactive team player and technically motivated to solve problems innovatively.
