**Job Summary**

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Adult Rehabilitation Service Administration Team Leader to oversee the administrative functions that ensure smooth patient flow and effective support across our Adult Rehab Services at Burwood Hospital.

The Adult Rehabilitation service consists of the Burwood Spinal Unit (BSU) and Burwood Adult Rehabilitation Unit (BARU). The BSU provides specialized spinal services across a catchment from New Plymouth to Hastings, offering inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, and reassessment services. The BARU provides inpatient neuro and general rehabilitation services and general and concussion outpatient services for under 65-year-olds.

This role plays a critical part in the integration of patient services, optimizing waitlist management, and maintaining a high standard of quality and compliance with Ministry of Health (MOH) guidelines and ACC contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration Integration: Oversee the cohesive operation of administrative tasks across the service, from booking to transcription.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular audits to improve patient experience and maintain compliance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the administration team, manage workloads, and foster a high-performance culture.
  • System Improvements: Enhance processes to support data integrity, streamline workflows, and improve service delivery.
  • Operational Support: Provide administrative input into planning and reporting, supporting efficient use of resources and alignment with best practices.
  • Patient Flow Coordination: Ensure efficient patient flow through the Spinal and BARU Services, identify constraints, and collaborate with the leadership team to address any bottlenecks.
  • Project Participation: Contribute to various projects, ensuring timely, quality, and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Resource Management: Maintain stock levels, oversee equipment maintenance, and ensure adherence to purchasing policies.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with all policies and undertaking audits as required.
