About the Role
In this position, you will develop specialised skills in the treatment for malignant and non-malignant haematological disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care to patients from throughout the South Island.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualised care plans for patients undergoing bone marrow transplants
- Collaborate with the medical team to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment of haematological disorders
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding disease management and treatment options
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experience
Requirements
- 3+ years of nursing experience, preferably in haematology or oncology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively
- Current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) and registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
