About the Role: We seek a highly skilled Psychiatrist with experience in General Adult Mental Health to join our team. The successful candidate will be based with the Adult community teams in Rotorua and may involve some in-reach to Taupo. This role offers a flexible operating model, allowing for work-life balance and opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities: As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality clinical services to patients, focusing on General Adult Mental Health. Your expertise will contribute to the development of comprehensive treatment plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. You will also play a vital role in teaching and mentoring medical students and registrars training in fellowship with the RANZCP.
Requirements: To succeed in this role, you must have broad general psychiatric skills, with specific experience in Community Adult Mental Health. Hold or be eligible for Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of NZ. Enjoy teaching, as Rotorua is a teaching hospital with opportunities for education and mentorship. Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori is desirable, but we encourage candidates to take ownership of their learning and growth journey.
What We Offer: Competitive salary, Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance for successful long-term appointments, free staff parking, a supportive work environment, flu vaccination discounts, and access to an Employee Assistance Program. Awhe utu / Salary range: $185,380 to $267,980 pro-rated to hours worked plus Senior Medical Officer allowances.
