Environmental Planning Leader

Job Description:
The Resource Consents Team Leader will play a key role in ensuring the effective processing of resource consent applications at Hauraki Dc. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in a fast-paced environment, requiring excellent leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Resource Consents team in processing resource consent applications, ensuring timely and accurate decisions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with mana whenua and other stakeholders, incorporating Te Ao Maori perspectives into decision-making.
- Provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders, including elected officials, community members, and developers.
- Collaborate with other teams to drive initiatives that improve processes and enhance service delivery.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in resource management, planning, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent understanding of the RMA and local government processes.
- Commitment to incorporating Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and Te Ao Maori into work.
- Exceptional communication, negotiating, and relationship-building abilities.
- A Bachelor's Degree or Level 7 Diploma in a related field and Member of the NZPI or qualify for membership (desired).
