Auckland War Memorial Museum is seeking a Curatorial Conservator to join its team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The Curatorial Conservator will play a key role in the museum's centenary celebrations by leading the conservation effort for the relocation of its collections. Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting condition surveys of collections, contributing to the planning and prioritisation of gallery object decants and storage relocations, and undertaking conservation and stabilisation of objects. You will also be responsible for documenting treatments on database records and advising staff on the handling and safe packing of objects.

Requirements:
We are looking for an experienced conservator with a degree in materials conservation and at least two years of conservation experience. You should have a strong understanding of preventive conservation principles and excellent communication skills. Experience working with Pacific and Māori cultural material is highly desirable.
