Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Adviser Emergency Management responsible for the Auckland, Northland, and Waikato region. You'll be part of a highly focused, diverse, and motivated team where no two days are the same.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver emergency management systems, processes, and frameworks across planning, training, and exercising.
- Work closely with people from all levels of the Department to ensure our staff are confident and competent to respond to incidents.
- Facilitate working groups, develop guidelines and procedures, and build trusted relationships within the department and with partner agencies.
- Manage a portfolio of projects and activities aligned to our work programme.
Requirements
- Solid experience in emergency management, particularly in complex or large-scale operational environments.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and the ability to make good decisions under pressure.
- Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience writing and running desktop exercises ideally for inter-agency response scenarios.
- Applicants must be qualified in Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) Level 4.

You are a leader with a strong understanding of emergency management principles and practices. You have experience in complex or large-scale operational environments and possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
