The Role

We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in data engineering patterns, including ingestion, processing, quality, and storage. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and enhancing our new data platform, as well as supporting our existing system. You'll work closely with multi-disciplinary technology teams to deliver solutions that align with our ICT architecture guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines using Databricks and data warehousing solutions
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and provide expert development and consultancy services
  • Develop and enhance our new data platform, leveraging advanced data processing tools and platforms
  • Support our existing system, ensuring seamless integration with our data warehouse and business intelligence tools

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer with proven expertise in data engineering patterns
  • Recent experience with Databricks Lakehouse Platform, including Delta Lake, Notebooks, SQL/PySQL, Python/PySpark, Unity Catalog, and pipeline orchestration
  • Proficient in Python, PySpark, and SQL for building and optimising data pipelines
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as PowerShell
  • Skilled in orchestration, pipeline monitoring, and optimising Spark jobs/Databricks clusters
  • Experience with data warehousing solutions, including Azure SQL DB, Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, and Azure Synapse
  • Experience with BI tools, including Tableau and Power BI
  • Able to work effectively in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
