This includes owning the health, stability, and performance of SQL Server environments, monitoring and maintaining database availability, reliability, and recoverability, and implementing structured backup, restore, patching, and upgrade strategies.



  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Owning the full lifecycle of SQL Server environments, including performance tuning, automation, security, and scalability.
  • Monitoring and maintaining database availability, reliability, and recoverability to meet strict SLAs.
  • Identifying and resolving performance issues using execution plans, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Managing SQL Server deployments on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or others), focusing on security, automation, and scalability.
  • Partnering with development, testing, and support teams to deliver high-performing, scalable systems.
  • Analysing trends and usage patterns to ensure infrastructure is optimally sized and to assist with capacity planning.

What You'll Bring



  • A strong background in SQL Server administration across both on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • A proven track record with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
  • Expertise in core DBA skills, including automation, security, performance optimization, and monitoring.
  • Hands-on experience managing SQL Server in cloud environments—AWS preferred, but Azure or GCP are also welcome.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native services and best practices for scalability, cost optimization, and resilience.
  • A logical, detail-oriented thinker who enjoys solving complex problems.
  • Comfortable working independently but collaborative when it counts.
