Pathways to Employment Specialist

The Employment Assessor/Advisor will play a critical role in our Refugee Pathways to Employment Programme in Auckland. The successful candidate will work closely with clients from diverse backgrounds to assess their employment readiness and develop personalized career plans.
Responsibilities
- Carry out individual assessments of clients' transferable work skills and personal attributes
- Support clients with developing CVs
- Conduct English language skills assessments to feed into the employment plan
- Develop a plan with the client, including clear training and education pathways leading to employment
- Network with training and education providers and employers in the region
- Work with relevant employers to grow employment opportunities for low-skilled, skilled, and professional individuals from refugee backgrounds
Requirements
- Skill in second language teaching to adults and experience of assessing language competencies (required)
- Understanding of the English language requirements and skills required to study at a New Zealand tertiary institution (desired)
- Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Awareness of New Zealand employers' priorities and familiarity with employment sectors in the region
