About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and reliable individual to fill the position of Rakaia Huts Campground Caretaker/Cleaner. This is a fixed-term role for 12 months, requiring 20 hours of work per week over 7 days.

As the site representative, you will be responsible for providing a customer-focused experience, maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the campground, and performing minor building maintenance tasks.

The hourly rate for this role is $27.80, which is in line with the living wage. We anticipate increased occupancy during peak periods such as Easter and Anzac, and expect the occupancy rate to be minimal during other times.

About You

  • You must be available to work for the full 12-month term
  • You have a strong belief in delivering exceptional customer service
  • You possess a cheerful, welcoming, and kind demeanor towards visitors
  • You are physically fit and active
  • You have experience in general building and grounds maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs
  • You possess strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, social media, invoicing, planning, and email communication
  • You are eligible to work in NZ and hold either NZ Residency or a valid Work Permit
  • You hold a current Full NZ Drivers License
  • You can pass a NZ Police vetting request submission and a satisfactory drug and alcohol test
