Malignant Haematology and Stem Cell Transplant Position

A malignant haematology and stem cell transplant position is available at Auckland City Hospital.

  • This is a unique opportunity to work in New Zealand's largest Stem Cell Transplant and Malignant Haematology Service.
  • As part of the malignant Clinical Haematology Service, you will provide tertiary services including treatment of acute leukaemia, high grade lymphoma and autologous/allogeneic stem cell transplant for the greater Auckland region.

About the Service:

The malignant Clinical Haematology Service is a leading provider of cancer care in the Auckland region, serving a large and varied population of around 1.7 million people.

The service works closely with a well-established thrombosis unit and bleeding disorder program, as well as LabPlus which provides integrated and comprehensive laboratory support for the clinical service.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide secondary haematology services to the central Auckland area.
  2. Participate in clinical trials, collaborative group, investigator initiated, and pharmaceutical sponsored.
  3. Contribute to the teaching programme for undergraduate medical students, registrars and hospital staff.

Requirements:

  • Vocational and/or Locum Tenens registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
  • An interest in quality improvement and contributing to the teaching programme.
