Behavioural Health Specialist

Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand Raphs Ltd Full time

About Us

Raphs Ltd is a Primary Healthcare Organisation (PHO) with a clinical network that coordinates Primary Care Health Services in the Rotorua District.

We are looking for health professionals who are willing to specialise as Health Improvement Practitioners, to deliver client-led behavioural health services, working directly within General Practice.

As a Behavioural Health Specialist, you will provide clients with clinical therapeutic support based on the successful Behavioural Health Consultancy (BHC) model.

The purpose of the BHC model is to improve health outcomes for clients facing psychological and physical wellbeing challenges in primary care.

You will work as an integrated member of the local General Practices and provide immediately accessible, evidence-based brief interventions to individuals and their families to assist in improving their mental and physical health and wellbeing.

Focused Acceptance Commitment Therapy (fACT) is the primary brief intervention used. It offers clients easy access to brief targeted interventions to help people manage challenges that adversely affect their wellbeing.

The model ensures quick connection to social and specialist supports at the time that people need it.

We are looking for experienced health professionals who have therapeutic behavioural change skills.

Successful applicants will receive comprehensive training and ongoing mentoring.

This position will appeal to clinicians with an interest and expertise in behavioural health and Focused Acceptance Commitment Therapy.

We require a current New Zealand registration as a health professional (Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work) with a current practicing certificate.

Professional experience in their registered field of a minimum of 3 years is also required.

Qualifications in CBT, ACT or fACT are an advantage but not essential.

We are seeking a team player who can work autonomously and collaboratively with key stakeholders.

A full clean NZ Driver Licence is also required.

We welcome applications from candidates with a genuine passion for improving health outcomes for patients and their whanau.

We value understanding and appreciation of Maori health issues, Tikanga Maori, and the Rotorua Community.
