About the Role

Spectrum Care is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the position of Mental Health Crisis Support Specialist in our Intensive Respite Service. As a pivotal member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide crisis support for young people during critical times in their lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, family members, professionals, and external agencies to provide temporary housing for young people in crisis
  • Develop and implement personalized support plans to promote independence and self-confidence among service users
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals experiencing mental health issues or challenging behaviors
  • Conduct home visits and assessments to identify areas requiring assistance
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Document progress and outcomes in accordance with organizational standards

Requirements

  • A full New Zealand driver's license is mandatory
  • Availability to work 8-hour shifts on a 24/7 roster
  • Reliability, resilience, and passion for working with vulnerable populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage crisis situations effectively
  • Previous experience working with youths and knowledge of youth culture and issues are highly desirable
