We are seeking a skilled Forensic Mental Health Specialist to join our team at the Mason Clinic, providing comprehensive forensic mental health services to individuals in need.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, and promoting evidence-based practices that honour the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
About the Role:
- Deliver court liaison and court reporting services.
- Provide multidisciplinary and assertive prison in-reach mental health care to five prisons.
- Offer secure inpatient acute care and medicolegal assessment.
- Provide secure inpatient rehabilitative care.
- Consult on specialist women's services.
- Develop forensics community reintegration programs.
- Collaborate with consultation liaison services.
- Promote hospital-level care for intellectually disabled offenders.
Requirements:
- Certification as a psychiatrist or relevant specialist qualification.
- Experience in projects that promote Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches.
- Commitment to serving the diverse needs of New Zealanders.
