We are seeking a talented Learning Experience Designer to join our team in Wellington.

About the Role

As an Instructional Designer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and delivering top-notch instructional materials that ensure an exceptional learner experience across the Commission. Your work will involve collaborating with stakeholders to conduct learner needs analysis and develop learning delivery plans.

You will apply best practices in instructional design, including ADDIE and Agile methodologies, to create positive, learner-centred experiences. You will also liaise with the Business Enablement training team to ensure consistency in the design of Commission learning and training materials.

In this 18-month fixed term role, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality instructional materials, including e-learning courses, assessments, and face-to-face workshops for various audiences. You will collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.

Your other key responsibilities will include developing meaningful assessment tools to measure the success and effectiveness of training and learning experiences, providing system administration support for the Totara Learning Management System (Tupu), and monitoring and analyzing learner engagement and performance data to continuously improve course offerings.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • High level of creativity and attention to detail.
  • High level of computer literacy, including competence in the Microsoft Office suite, use of technology, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Skilled in utilising video, animation, Adobe Creative suite, and preferably using Totara systems.
  • Experience writing content and developing e-learning courses in Articulate Storyline 360.
  • Well-developed research and analytical skills, particularly in an operational context.
  • Knowledge and experience in adult learning and the application of best practice learning and development methodologies.
  • Ability to translate strategy into operational delivery.
