Job DescriptionWe are seeking experienced Tax Managers and Senior Tax Managers to join our growing Property / Real Estate Tax team at KPMG.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for undertaking tax engagements for clients, providing high-quality specialist tax advice and services in the property space. This includes transaction support, structuring, tax advisory, and compliance.
Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of tax legislation, case law, and financial information. They will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to lead and mentor junior tax specialists.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Managing and mentoring junior tax specialists to ensure clients receive exceptional service.
- Staying up-to-date with changes in tax legislation relevant to Property Tax.
- Conducting thorough research and applying findings to provide well-analysed tax opinions and practical advice.
- Advising clients on specific tax implications, applying an understanding of legislation, case law, and financial information.
- Collaborating with other teams within the firm to provide holistic solutions to clients.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including private equity, investment banks, law firms, and tax authorities.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients by acting as a trusted advisor and managing communications in a timely and effective manner.
- Contributing to the development of best practices, processes, and procedures.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Taxation, Law, or Accounting.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Tax Advisory roles, preferably in the property sector.
- Strong knowledge of tax legislation and case law.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively advise clients.
- Competent user of MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor more junior tax specialists.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
