About Skylight New Zealand

At Skylight New Zealand, we're dedicated to supporting young people and their families through challenging times. Our mission is to provide evidence-based information, professional services, and support to help them navigate these difficulties.

We're seeking experienced and aspiring board members who can bring energy, commitment, sound judgement, professionalism, critical thinking skills, and diversity to our team. Ideally, you'll have one or more of the following competencies:

  1. Clinical knowledge, experience, and skills working with tamariki
  2. Commercial acumen with experience growing revenue in a not-for-profit setting
  3. Legal expertise particularly in areas relevant to the not-for-profit sector
The Role

As a board member, you'll play a vital role in shaping the direction of Skylight New Zealand. You'll participate in 6 formal meetings (typically 3 hours) and an in-person planning day annually. You may also sit on one of our committees, which meet 2-4 times a year for 1-2 hours. Board members are also encouraged to attend stakeholder functions.

You'll be appointed for a 3-year term, which may be renewed by mutual consent. All board members perform their roles on a voluntary basis.
