The Department Of Corrections Nz operates 24/7, so flexibility and adaptability are essential. We prioritize diversity and inclusion, encouraging candidates from all backgrounds to apply. Our comprehensive selection process assesses applicants against our core requirements, which include:

  • Able to pass a full disclosure criminal history check and pre-employment medical, physical, and drug testing
  • A valid New Zealand driver's licence (or equivalent)
  • Ability to declare any conflicts of interest and previous convictions
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand or hold a Work Visa with at least 12 months remaining

Once hired, you'll receive fully paid training, including a one-week induction and 10 weeks of training at our National Training Centre. Our focus areas align with the Government's strategy, Hokai Rangi, emphasizing the importance of reducing reoffending and promoting rehabilitation.
