Gisborne District Council is seeking a Senior Customer Experience Representative to join our team.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and thrives in a leadership role. As the Senior Customer Experience Representative, you will support the Team Leader Customer Experience in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility's front desk, merchandise sales, and customer service functions.
You will take the lead when the Team Leader is unavailable, driving continuous improvements and ensuring that every visitor has a positive experience.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership within the Customer Experience team, ensuring high-quality service at all times
- Be the first point of contact for customers, offering friendly and professional assistance
- Manage reception operations, facility bookings, and merchandise sales
- Support cash handling, banking, and financial reporting duties
- Maintain a clean and welcoming reception and shop area
- Assist with administrative tasks, including data collection, reporting, and inventory management
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- Previous experience in a customer service, reception, or retail environment (3+ years preferred)
- Experience handling cash and using basic computer systems
- A positive and friendly attitude with strong communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, resolve customer inquiries efficiently, and demonstrate resilience in handling challenging interactions
