About the Role

Mental Health and Addictions is a priority for the Government and communities. The Government expects Regional Network Manager leadership to be established to support implementation of the five health targets for mental health and addiction, model of care delivery and increased workforce capacity and capability. This position is critical to gaining regional momentum for delivery against the Governments work programme across four domains:

  1. Access to supports and services
  2. Increasing workforce capacity and capability
  3. Prevention
  4. Early intervention

You will be responsible for providing strong leadership to the mental health and addiction sector, to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care, achieve performance targets, and to build a high performing mental health and addictions system that delivers improved outcomes for patients.

About the Team/Service/ Location

This role is part of the Deputy Chief Executive Leadership team, formulating and supporting Health New Zealand's future direction and contributing to the performance of the Northern Region in delivering safe and effective care.

The position will work closely with the National Clinical Lead, Mental Health and Addiction and Director – Specialist Mental Health and Addictions and in partnership with the Northern Region Clinical Lead Mental Health and Addictions to ensure the effectiveness and appropriateness of clinical and non-clinical services provided by the mental health and addiction workforce.

The Regional Network Manager, Mental Health and Addictions will provide management leadership of the Regional Mental Health Service Delivery Network and model Health New Zealand's values and ensure partnership between clinical and operational management roles, including working across Commissioning and Hospital and Specialist Services in our region.
