About Our Team

Our Environmental Health Team is dedicated to protecting and promoting public health and safety across our district. We are looking for a skilled and experienced professional to lead our team and contribute to our mission. Key responsibilities include:

  • Food safety and compliance, including the registration and verification of food businesses and Food Safety Officer duties.
  • Health Act inspections, covering premises registered under the Health Act 1956.
  • Alcohol licensing, assessing and reporting on alcohol licence applications and manager's certificates.
  • Public health investigations, addressing general health nuisances and compliance issues.

About You

You will be a strategic leader with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who can build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have experience and relevant qualifications in environmental health, public health compliance, or enforcement.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication, customer service, and decision-making skills, with a calm, solution-focused approach.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to stay ahead of emerging needs.
  • Be process-driven, with a keen eye for continuous improvement.
  • Be passionate about coaching and mentoring staff to help them reach their full potential.
