We are seeking an exceptional Pulmonology Physician to join our dynamic team in Gisborne, NZ. As a Consultant Pulmonology Physician, you will provide clinical expertise across General Respiratory and basic Sleep Medicine, participating in the delivery of excellent patient care, research, and regional expertise in line with our vision and values.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking outpatient chest clinics, providing a bronchoscopy service, and managing suspected lung cancer patients. You will also liaise with tertiary respiratory services in multidisciplinary management of patients with lung cancer and complex respiratory disorders.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in the acute general medicine service or intensive care unit, based on your clinical experience and interests.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong commitment to comprehensive care encompassed within General Internal Medicine or Intensive Care
  • A medical degree and relevant board certification in Respiratory and Internal Medicine
  • Eligibility for specialist registration in New Zealand
  • Experience in acute general medicine or intensive care, preferably at smaller centres
  • Proficiency in performing bronchoscopies and managing lung cancer referrals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients, families, and healthcare teams
