Regional Quality and Patient Safety Director

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Regional Quality and Patient Safety Lead to work within the Central Region. This role is responsible for supporting all Quality and Patient Safety systems and processes at the regional level.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Regional Deputy Chief Executive (DCE) and take direction from the National Chief, Quality and Patient Safety. They will work to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care to achieve Health New Zealand goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring Quality and Patient Safety are at the forefront of all care delivered by Health New Zealand in the region.
- Assisting in formulating and supporting Health New Zealand's future direction while ensuring quality of care and patient safety in the region.
- Working with the Regional Clinical Board and other leadership groups to achieve these goals.
Requirements
- A highly experienced leader with a proven track record in guiding initiatives within the healthcare sector.
- A deep understanding of clinical governance and the principles of healthcare quality.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in the health sector in Quality and Patient Safety.
- A relevant health qualification and clinical experience.
- Knowledge of New Zealand Health Legislation.
- Understanding of risk management.
- Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
- Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
