Job Description

The Regional Quality and Patient Safety Lead is a key role within the Central Region Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora organization. This position supports the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care to achieve Health New Zealand goals.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Regional Deputy Chief Executive (DCE) and the National Chief, Quality and Patient Safety to ensure that quality and patient safety are at the forefront of all care delivered by Health New Zealand in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all quality and patient safety systems and processes at the regional level
  • Work with the National Clinical Leadership team, Hospital and Specialist Services, and Commissioning to ensure the quality, safety, effectiveness, and appropriateness of overall clinical service provision in the region
  • Assist in formulating and supporting Health New Zealand's future direction while ensuring quality of care and patient safety in the region

Requirements

  • Highly experienced leader with a proven track record in guiding initiatives within the healthcare sector
  • Deep understanding of clinical governance and the principles of healthcare quality
  • Relevant health qualification and clinical experience
  • Knowledge of New Zealand Health Legislation
