Financial Crime Investigator

At ASB Bank, we're dedicated to accelerating the financial well-being of all New Zealanders. As a key member of our Customer Verification Services team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our customers' onboarding and ongoing due diligence requirements are met with ease.
This specialist team is responsible for extending our commitment to regulatory and reporting requirements, while making these processes as seamless as possible for our customers and front-line colleagues. We're currently seeking an Associate KYC Analyst to join our CVS team on a fixed term basis.
In this role, you'll contribute to the CVS Operations team by providing support for customer onboarding or change in circumstances, including complex requirements for trusts, entities, and individual due diligence. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting internal and external customers with AML/CFT onboarding requirements for account opening and ongoing customer due diligence
- Analysing and interrogating data received from various systems, customers, and other sources to identify and verify customers
- Maintaining the confidentiality of customer information and circumstances in line with privacy legislation and internal policy
- Collecting information from front-line staff and customers

- Outstanding customer service skills with proven experience in a customer-focused role
- Strong analytical and investigative capabilities with the ability to dig deeper and explore areas of grey
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information simply and diplomatically
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a high level of initiative
- Exposure to and understanding of Financial Crime disciplines will be viewed favourably
